Our name and logo are inspired by the Archaeopteryx, the first creature to make the transition from land to sky. This speaks to our belief in evolution, in## pushing boundaries, and in the pursuit of new and better ways to perform in the mountains.
Our Journey
The Beginning (1989)
Founded by climbers in a coastal rainforest under the mountains of North Vancouver, British Columbia, driven by a passion for performance and innovation.
GORE-TEX Innovation (1998)
Arc'teryx became one of the first to heat-laminate GORE-TEX fabrics, setting a new standard for waterproof-breathable outerwear construction.
ARC'One Manufacturing (2002)
Opened our own manufacturing facility in New Westminster, BC, ensuring complete control over quality and design execution.
Global Expansion
Expanded from our North Vancouver origins to over 100 brand stores and thousands of retail partners worldwide.
ReBIRD Program
Launched the ReBIRD platform encompassing care & repair, resale, and upcycling to extend the life of our products and reduce environmental impact.
Design Excellence
Recipient of numerous design and innovation awards, including recognition for our commitment to Fair Trade Certified manufacturing.
